Soft top frame help needed

Hello all,

The frame for my soft top seems to be out of shape, it jams trying to get it out of the well and then it seems to be out of line with the stud/catch when I try to locate the rear in it slot.

I do not like to adjust it myself as I am sure I will only make it worse.

Does anyone know a good source of help in the Beds, Buck North Herts area.

Chris Spain of Stagweber has a lot of experience in this area - can't remember where he is but think he's a bit south of you. Also Jim of SE Trimming - he's in the Faversham area which might be a bit further away.

Hi Jonno,

Thanks for the info.

Jim made a great job of the cover when I took it down to him, he also did some carpets and trim.

It is a long way to go back to him to adjust the frame set up. I note that Stagweber are in Surrey but I cannot see their address at present but I will call and see what is possible.

It would be handy for someone a bit nearer though.

If you had the hood fitted by Jim, adjusting the frame might upset the fit of the hood. Might be better to go back to the expert to get the whole lot sorted at once.

Definitely agree taking it to Jim is probably the best solution

when you say the soft top jams getting it out of the hood well,is it catching on the cubby panels,if so the side arms are bent,once the hood is up,you should be able to see whats bend or out of shape

Only time my hood catches is when the retaining hooks at the B posts haven't latched onto the bottom rail correctly.
