    Feeling Lucky

Decided its time to sort the severe rear wheel camber, leaky diff and generally worn out back end. On disassembly found a crack in the diff extension piece. Its something ive checked on my yearly service for the last few years till i got time to do the strengthening mod.

Quite disturbing to think only a week ago me and a friend had a sprited drive to a car meet, would hate to think if it had let go when we were sat at 90 on the dual carriageway or on my annual visit to the isle of man tt.

Well worth a close check if not allready modified id say.

    Yikes!
that was a close shave indeed and one I’ve thankfully never had, I ensured I wouldn’t too by getting a strengthened replacement from LD...

    Cheers

Look at this picture on Chris Wittors site. It gives you the idea.

Quite a few threads on here about it and the consequences of failure!

Just make sure you have the diff nose bolted up to the diff before welding and take precautions to not overheat the flange. It will distort otherwise.

i found it easier to weld the diff nose extension, while not connected to the diff, but leave the old bearing in place while welding, your going to replace it any way
