Don't buy spax, I have spax adjustable sand they are rock hard even on the softest setting. I'll be interested in the replies because I'm looking to change them
Had the same JO. Moaned at Spax reps at a car show about 3 years ago who said they have changed them but would not offer any deal on the revised ones. Now got KYB, happy with them.
Having moaned about my KYB’s originally, I love them now - if you lean on the car at stationary it seems so soft and yet on the move they seem to do exactly what KYB imply they should and adjust according to what’s happening on the road - very clever and actually cheaper than the Spax I had before.
But if you want to be able to have full adjustment then either Spax or Koni
I have had GAZ adjustable shocks on all four corners for years and find them great. The factory is very help full . There is a company i have dealt with recently called https://rennsportfactory.co.uk/. Who will custom make a new set of shocks for you.
I have Gaz adjustables on my estate. They are too short as they come and need a spacer in the bottom of the strut tube to stop them rattling. They are set to the softest setting but work ok.
I have KYBs on my K reg Stag. These are spot on with the uprated springs I am using. I will treat my other Stag to KYBs at some point as the standard front struts are a bit under damped with the same uprated springs.

Mine were replaced with KYB by Faversham right after I bought the car, so I drove it before and after. Very happy with the feel of the KYB's (with new springs too).
