Interesting article by the BBC on emissions
Tom de Castella bet that his petrol-fuelled old banger was cleaner than his dad's 2009 diesel. The test showed some new cars are worse than either.
so newer cars can be more polluting than older ones.
I did alway think the scrappage schemes were nothing more than snake oil and I very much doubt this charge will do much for London's air quality1976 Triumph V8 Manual/OD in BRG

I suspect you may still have to pay the congestion charge though ?Last edited by Kithmo; 23 October 2017, 10:54.

Interesting. And if all the cars on the road today were electric the grid would not be able to cope with the demand. So the solution is for us all to have a smal diesel generator at home to charge up our electric cars. So we will still be creating Nox emissions anyway. Or we go back to tilling the land as they did during the Iron Age!
