Hood up or Down for Winter?

Dear ALL, advice/opinions for my Stag over winter. Since buying it I took the hard top off and have kept it in my garage with hood down. For the winter months Ive just bought a car cover. Is it better to keep hood up or leave it down over the winter?

Put the hard top on and use the car regularly if weather is half decent. Much better for the car to be used than laid up.

The hard top makes the car an entirely different beast. Much better than driving it with the soft top up.

I always unzip my rear window when I fit my hard top, stops any creasing.

          Hi,
Plan to keep the hard top hanging in the garage roof. Had a TR 5 and 6, both with hard tops. But it's frustrating on a cold but sunny day to be stuck with a tin top.
You have a soft top only for use if it rains when out.
          Go topless.

If you are not going to use it with or without the hard top ,put the soft top up an clean car before covering,or the dirt will scratch the paint, also I also put a dehumidifier bag inside the car.

I think up is best due to possible shrinkage whist in the space, all scrunched up

At the moment the hard top is still sitting unused as last year....

Like the idea of top down whenever I can!

Be careful when securing the rear plunger catch of the hood if you are putting it up in very cold weather, I managed to split my rear screen as I slammed the rear rail down.

That's such a shame, Danny. Once the temperature is below about 7C I've noticed that Polythene becomes as brittle as glass. I dropped a plastic watering can last winter and it split open.
