It might be worth a punt if it doesn't go over £4k then another £15k could be spent putting it right.

Sneaky feeling the seller has form for posing as a poor enthusiast, then selling at top dollar, so can't see much hope of sub £4k.

I see Keith has dug out the thread on which my recollection was based.

Reminds me a bit of a Stag that lived in this area about 30 years ago but that one had bigger arches and wider tyres and was a mixture of gloss black and rust with chrome side pipe exhausts and a Rover V8.
Probably long since gone to the scrapyard, but its owner was a power line repair man for the MEB and did over 30,000 miles a year in it. It actually looked a bit of a beast in its time, and I wouldn't have minded it myself (with a respray)!
However, I must agree with Kithmo on this one!

I probably would have loved it in the 70s when customising was all the rage, not my cup of tea now though. Nice colour.

Saw this one at Newark Autojumble a few weeks ago, well executed.

Now that’s interesting Dave, it’s the one I nearly bought for £7k off a guy on eBay who was selling it for his mate - it was unfinished but heavily modded with a 4.6 TVR engine, bmw back axle etc.
Good to see its been mobilised and someone’s enjoying it, not to everyone’s taste but essentially a very well sorted car that just needed some tlc.

Yep that's right Mike, 4.6 engine, looked OK, some cracking on the passenger side arch but otherwise nice bodywork.

Thats too funny but definitely true.
The car is such a beautiful design it needs nothing added, but whatever turns you on I suppose.

Spent so much time and effort on the customising, he hasn’t bothered to tell DVLA of the colour change as it is still white according to their database.
