Hi Andy, I like the TR7. I had one that colour, but it was repainted a Mercedes light blue Metallic at some point in it’s life. Would have much preferred the green, a proper seventies colour.

Don’t forget the important performance upgrade of sticking a Rover V8 in. Transforms the car.

I would recommend a Stag. Initially I was concerned about the reliability, but it has turned out to be very reliable. They’re not perfect, but the way they drive, with the addition of the V8 burble. It’s addictive.

You have the roads, you just need to add a V8 soundtrack.

      Welcome to the forum, Andy!

That is an very nice TR7. I'd like one myself at some point.

Best of luck with the Stag hunt.

        Today I got a Stag.
It needs some recommisioning, which has been organised and I hope to be driving it by May this year

It is as close to what I would have wanted which would have been the car in the photo of my first post!
It IS Magenta,It has a hardtop it is manual and is 1973 straight and original.

I'm looking for a bit of info tho' please guys.

What would have been the default choice for Radio fitment back in 1973?

What would have been the default pin stripe colour.Presently it is Gold(IIRC Supa's was Gold too)

Would 1973 have been black rear panel as std?

The radio use to be blanked but the one we fitted in the dealer where Radio Mobile 1070 push button or Motorola 114, both medium/long wave, with black fitting kit I think you can get updated look a likes with MP3 but I dont know how good they are The back panel went to black in 1973, From what I remember, I know the sprints where silver and am pretty sure so was the stags, (my preference)
