Just wondered if there actually is any tangible difference twixt one and t,other?
Any advice much appreciated
Personally I don't know, but a former Tenerife Forum member swapped his BW35 for a BW65 on his Stag (supplied by another ex Forum member), and I seem to recall him saying it was an improvement. Not in touch with either of them nowadays so can't expand on that.
I have a BW 35 in my Stag and a BW 65 in my 2500S. I can't say there is any discernible difference between them after many years of use. I prefer the driving experience in the 2500S but that may be for other reasons
okay - i am no expert, but i read once that the later 65 had the weakness of the 35 fixed (whatever they were) . probably makes little difference on the low mileages most of us do
65 definately much smoother and appealing also is that it is much lighter but local transmission specialist tells me though that parts are getting much harder to find here for the 65. We had no problem finding quality parts to rebuild my 35 and he suggested I use one of the newer synthetic fluids as well. The 35 is a robust enough tranny and very economical to repair!
Had the 65 in my stag, it was so l was told a good one. It still clunked when put in gear especially reverse.
Now have the ZF and it's a different car.
