    Swapping over ignition key barrel

Anyone have any experience in swapping the ignition barrel into a new unit or can recommend a good classic locksmith to do it for me ?

Stag only turns over if the key is pushed up in the ignition lock and as I've already swapped the electrical bit over (part no 158459) so
I suspect it's the barrel/lock itself as I think the PO swapped the locks over and bodged the ignition switch one.

I've got a 2nd hand lock assembly to try as new ones seem a bit scarce but no key for it.

It's this bit I'm talking about replacing:

Easy peasy just get a hacksaw and cut a groove in each of the screw heads and undo it.

I once changed an ignition lock on a Triumph 2.5 PI and I presume that the Stag is similar. The bolts that hold it in place don't have any sort of hexagon head as they shear off after tightening to provide security and to stop any potential thief from undoing the steering lock. I simply used a centre punch and hammer to tap the bolts round and undo them without too much difficulty. Obviously you need new bolts for re-assembly

Replaced mine in past after an attempted theft damaged the barrel. As others have said ..need to remove existing shear-bolts either by tapping around or carefully drill out heads. Refit with new shear-bolts.

OP was asking how to swap the ignition barrel in the lock housing.
          The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137
