Stiff clutch pedal :(

Hi Just wanted to put the stag into the garage ,but when trying to engage gear the clutch pedal felt like the brake pedal ,it would not budge !!!!!!

Finally with my ultra strong left leg ,it moved but not too far ,then a clunk it disconnected the drive.I could just about change gear .

Ive sprayed lube up near the top of the peddle box from in the car .It seems to make it slightly easier ,am I right in thinking the bushes are shot ,or similar ?

Ideas most welcome,

Hi Alex,

Don’t want to make it seem too complicated but it sounds more clutch related than pedal - do you get any odd noises with the car in neutral and the clutch disengaged, assuming it does so...?
I wouldn’t have thought the pedal bushes would prevent pedal movement to that extent..

Tend to agree with Mike, simplest would be to release the bleed nipple on the clutch slave cylinder and see if the pedal depresses easily. If so then the issue most likely will be within the bell housing, i’m afraid.☹️☹️

hi Took it to garage this morning ,would you believe it everything perfect !!! until half way crossing the main ring road , i could not get a gear !!!! this was only 200 yards from the menders .I await a phone call .

This became a long story .....of a great clutch action then not .....Finally solved, the pin had sheared ,even tho I bought the stronger one from a well known supplier.!!!
