    Rear springs too short

Has anybody fitted 1" lowering springs from chris witor? I am in the process of fitting some and with the car jacked up by the body and the shock absorber and full length the spring is loose and free to come out of its little cup. The uncompressed length of these lower but stiffer springs is 10 1/2 inch whereas my originals are 12 1/2

    Thanks

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I recently removed 1" lowered(from Paddocks) not sure of length, but they weren't loose when the car was jacked up. I had to unbolt shock at bottom to give enough clearance to remove them.

    Cheers

Ok cheers, ill try ringing chris witor to see if the correct springs have been supplied. Something clearly isnt right weather the spax dampers i have are a touch longer or the springs are too short im not sure but something clearly isnt right.

I have those springs fitted on both my Stags. They are very loose when the car is jacked up but not to the point they will fall out, however I don't have Spax shocks fitted and if they were just 1/4 inch longer than the ones I have then that could occur.

I seem to remember having to offset the end bushes of the shocks on one car by cutting the inner bushes thinner and spacing the outer bushes by the same amount. The amount that can be gained is dependant on the original thickness of the bushes, but if you only need half an inch total it should be possible.

See how it sits on its wheels first.
Will you ever be in a position for full suspension drop when driving on the road...unless you like driving fast over hump back bridges?

Ive spoke to chris witor and it turns out he supplies shorter dampers to go with the springs. I will get some ordered in the new year. Its sits fine on the springs but i want it to be right really. Dread to think what the result would be if one came out.

            Thanks
