Never seen one of these before!

A dealer publication with target repair times! I would love to know how long the poor mechanics were given to get the heads off or replace the water pump.

But thinking again sometimes they were stripping the engines down only months after they had been built up.

Most manufacturers have a similar publication for their vehicles.

Remove & refit the water pump: 2.15Hrs (man) 2.25Hrs (auto)

Cylinder heads, remove and refit: between 5.3Hrs and 6.15Hrs (that's for both, not each one!)

Dealer times were good for most jobs, but the foremans favourite would always get the best jobs to allow for bonuses to be earnt.
Some times didn't bare any resemblance to the actual job in hand.

Fascinating read Gary, sometimes it takes me longer than the quoted times to remember where I put the 9/16" socket or 3/8" ratchet or any other tool i need etc than the total repair time given!

It doesn't allow for the nut that is seized, or the ball joint that falls apart. If you look at what mechanics earn against other skilled trades, I often wonder why they bother. The money is hard earned IMHO.
