    Rear silencer

Might be a daft question but do the left and right exhaust pipes merge into one in the rear silencer?

Asking as one tailpipe looks pale and the other more sooty - should you use two gas probes when tuning?

    Thanks

No rear silencer on mine! 2 only in centre of vehicle with link pipe joining them, one tailpipe more sooty than the other could be the carbs unbalanced/imbalanced. Get the carbs checked and me sure there’s no leaks from the exhaust.

I understand imbalance in "sootiness" is fairly common.

Don't get lulled into thinking that the carbs are dedicated to the bank of cylinders they sit above - each carb serves 2 cylinders on each bank. Not sure why - that's above my pay-grade Though it has been discussed on here before.

Thanks Jonno, l've hung off replying as I was still hoping someone might be able to answer about whether the back box is split or not but I picked up a 2nd hand stainless sport system over the weekend which is two seperate rear tail pipes. Thanks for the info about the inlet manifold.
