hi, i want to thouroughly clean both my Stags su's as i am renovating the whole engine & bay, will fully submerging them in a bucket of petrol overnight to loosen any dirt & grime do any harm to the internals or any other parts on them? if so which is the best fluid to use to get the best results? If petrol damaged a carb, I would be a bit surprised :shock:
More effective though would be carb cleaner My local store sells it for £1 for an aerosol tin and it does the job (use a stiff brush as well to clean thoroughly). Make sure to oil the moving parts after cleaning though.

I used an old tooth brush and white spirit to clean mine. Worked a treat.

Thanks guys, i thought so but i just wanted to make doubley sure just in case there was a sensitive internal part that shouldnt get soden, cheers, Mick.
