I'm looking to replace the seals on my hardtop windows. They are some nasty tat that a previous owner has put on there. Am I right in thinking they should be the same as the door surround? Furflex?
Assuming you mean the hardtop side windows then yes they are Furflex. Three pieces joined into a triangle shape. There's alsoFurflex seals above both doors.
I've been looking for tan Furflex seals for ages for the hardtop and the car as mine are quite tatty. Seem to be rarer than a very rarer thing.
Got one sitting in the garage waiting to befitted, I've been meaning to do it for the last three summers. Just need a nice hot day so I can fit it outside.
I needed these for my hard top when I refurbed it a few years ago. None of the suppliers had them. I took an old one to the scrap yard and had a poke around. I found that a door seal from a Jag XJS was almost identical in profile, but much better quality furflex. One door seal did both side windows. Can't remember what year Jag it was. Any friendly scrappies near you?

Hi Dave,
I don't think there are that many scrappies around here. Most in the thames valley area have closed due to H&S concerns. Same goes for chroming and plating. They've mostly shut shop due to the associated costs and general price of the area.
I replaced my door seals 3 years ago and they're not bad, however, I can't remember where I got them from :X.
I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Thanks for the pointer.
There is a scrappy at the back of Chobham on the road to Staple Hill. Same little estate as my bodywork man.
Go from Chobham towards Sunningdale, go past the Oriebtal & Eastern restaurant and take next right. About 300 yards along turn right and follow unmade track through the woods to yard.

Just seen Steve's post, the Chobham scrapyard is a bit rougher than that!

Thanks Al,
Could combine a trip to your bodywork man for my door at the same time.
