At last it is now on the road.

Following a few weeks since I got the Stag back from Birmingham and gettingit sortedat last my Stag is now on the road and being used as a daily driver. Have driven it for the last week and have just spent all day giving the engine a tweek and it is running very well. For those of you who like pictures including the 2.5 P.I. I know it's not a "pure" Stag ( Ref another post ) but it is for me and I am happy with it.

Looking good mate and the straight six with PI is a good engine to have as a daily driver. What do you get MPG? If the TV8 packed on my car I would most likely fit this option as you need to alter very little to make it fit and the cheap to buy and fix!

Have you got a Stag exhaust system or a Chris Witor sports exhaust fitted?

The seat are from an MGF green one judging by the piping on the seats.

I see you got the Hardtop to fit in the end what was the cure to the problem you had?

those seats are deof out of an MGF - iknow asi have one LOL

They are out ofVVC car as they are half leather and they all came with green piping for some strange reason also unless you had full leather that is

Don, looks smart, your seats are from an MGF 1.8i, very comfy, i had a black one with the same coulor seats you have.

Hi Dave, Hard top has had a quick blow over, summer will see a better job. The hard top fitting is still not very good, a close look ( cannot see in the pictures ) will show some "interesting" methods of sealing the gap, another thing for the warmer weather.

Hi Stuart, Unsure about the MPG must have been about 5mpg last week but sorted that out yesturday, adjustment of the MU rich/cold start and fast idle was way out aswere the tappetts, timing and air bleed. I have a feeling that Stevie Wonderused to bethe mechanic. Hi Martin, Interesting you mention the stripes, I suspected that there should be some there but looking at the pictures of other Stags there seems to be quite a variation. If someone has or knows where I can see a picture of what the stripes look like and what colour etc they should be I would like to have a look.

Sorry, no pictures, but that year had stripes, and inthat colour they were black, makes the Stag look longer and slimmer. If you have the Rimmers paper catalogue there are some very good pics. Martin.

I think the side decals first came in at LD 20001 - Don's car looks a little earlier than that (Instruments are blackrimmed MK 1 style) - not all L-Reg's would have left the factor with them.

Agree with Andy, the instruments and the position of the interior lights in the 'B' pillar indicates this is a MK1, so would have left factory without coachlines.

I don't think your car should have stripes unless you really want them as it is a MK1 -MK11/2? I had a MK11/2 and it did not have stripes but was sapphire blue which looks good with out stripes, red on the other hand IMHO looks better with strips!:?

Upto you as it's your car and yo have it how you want it just like I do things that I like but others may not.

Anyway if you want stripes Black ones would go noce with the hardtop and interior.
