Had a quick look at my carbs earlier....I don't seem to have a by-pass valve fitted, just a space where it should be. Is anyone elses like that?
My Father-in-Lawis currently in hospital recovering from a quadruple by-pass. Does that count?

Had a rummage in the boxes that came with the car and no sign of any by-pass valves.

Checking on websites to source replacements, and the Rimmers catalogue says that they were only fitted to USA Stags.

Can anyone confirm this, and also if they have by-pass vales fitted to their strommies. My carbs have a tag no. of 3662.

        Hi Al

Mine haven't got the by pass either, my earlier comment was after looking at the pdf sent by Stagnjag which shows the by pass valve.

If you carbs ar like this there correct for the UK model.

            Hi Stu,

Yes! That is what mine look like.

Sorry to hear of your problems lately, and hope you get it all sorted soon.

I have just had another look at that pdf. The intro states that id describes the Emissions control systems for USA Regulations so it will differ from UK spec.

                Hi
Well my experience with the by-pass valve is that regardless of the emission control specification is does make a difference on deceleration. Mine were once blanked off (there is a tailor made plate for the job) and on over run there was explosion (backfiring) in the exhaust. Classic symptom of weak mixture. The installation of the by-pass valves fixed the problem.
