Hi All,
My Stag was converted from auto to manual by the DPO. Whilst waiting for the engine to come back from being rebuilt I have been cleaning up the gearbox etc
I refitted the clutch cross shaft and bearing carrier yesterday, the same way as I took it out.
I saw a photo today in a book that shows the cross shaft going in from the nearside, with the bearing carrier positioned so that the locking bolt is on the actuating mechanism side of the cross shaft. Checked some other manuals etc and they are all the same.
It would appear that mine was originally put in the otherway round as it goes in from the offside, with the bearing carrier locking bolt on the farside of the bearing.
Is this normal for a converted stag or is it all wrong? Does it make any difference?
TIA for any opinions/advice,
Rgds....Al.
