    Fuel Pump

The law of sod has dictated that while getting my car up on the ramps at the weekend to change the brake fluid and do an oil change, the fuel pump has decided to pack up! (And the electric windows but that isn't the subject of this post:shock.

I was under the impression that all Stags were fitted with SU fuel pumps. I have pulled my pump out, and while it is very similar it has Hardi embossed on the rear cover. Was this type of pump ever fitted to Stags, or do I have an odd one fitted?

I am hoping that I can replace the gubbins at the back but can't find anywhere on the web that sells spares. It might clean up but it is quite sooty inside so I suspect that the points have been arcing.

    any suggestions?

    Dave

Hiya Dave, that looks like an aftermarket cheepie somebody's stuck on,it probably uses SU points, in fact it looks like an SU with a different label, except for the mounting base, bit of an odd one. As Dave ( 2 ) says, it would be interesting to see what Burlen have to say. :?

There are some very good electronic pumps out there, about £50, or a genuine SU electronic ( you keep the ticking ) for £70 to £90. Martin.

According to this it is the same make as the pump for a 911 so it can't have been that much of a cheapie!

I have found Hardi's website and it looks like they supply modern pumps. No info on older pumps though. The closest I could find was a marine pump:shock:.

I was thinking along the lines of the electronic SU for a replacement. Any idea what the part No. is? - the SU number not the triumph one.

        Cheers

        Dave
