    Thermostat

Hi, I need a bit of help here, I bought the Stag with a Kenlowe fitted. The way it is fitted is as follows;....The kenlowe fan is fitted behind the radiator, it has 4 bolts going through the radiator and fitted on with round wing nuts, then the original fan is where it is.

Is this usual ? because I had a Rover P6 with a Kenlowe and it was not fitted this way. Also behind the radiator above the Kenlowe fan in question there is a little cooler unit ( looks like a miniture radiator )is this part of the kenlowe package?,.Lastly I am going to polish the stat housing and may change the stat if required, how do I decide which stat to use? the 75 or 82 degrees.:?

As always your thoughts and feedback are much appreciated from a Stag newbie.

I have an 82 deg stat in mine, some prefer the 88 deg one. 75 deg too low and not standard

      Hi

Mine is82 with the jiggle pin works fine so far, i tested itfirst with boiling water in a sauce pan to make sure it worked before i installed it in the car i know that this part is crucial.

Make sure that you are supplied with the correct stat. It should have a round plate at the bottom, sometimes known as a foot.

Hiya, 82 or 88 doesn't make a huge difference, just be certain it's the long stat with the foot to close off the bypass, this is vital ! Also make sure it has a jiggle pin, some don't, and fit the statwith it uppermost, oh, and a new gasket. I think LD do them. Cheers, Martin.

I should have said, Martini--shaken not stirred.

Sorry about the repeats, bloody computer's on autopilot ! :?

As to your fan, do you mean in front of the radiator ? I doubt there's room for it and the viscous fan on the same side. It sounds as if you're lucky enough to have an engineoil cooler from your description of the small matrix. Leccy fans come in both suck and blow so yes, it probably is right. Martin.

Another thought, could the extra matrix be for air-con ?

Barley juice? Nah - cheap French wine ! :dude: gezz hooo.

Yes Martin on the opposite side of the viscous fan, as regards this matrix I will have to have a closure look tomorrow as to where the hose connections go, will be changing to halogen lights tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback, will buy you a pint at Stonleigh.
