Door Seals

I could really be doing with new door seals as its the originals that are on mine. Ive heard a few people say that the replacements are too hard and they have difficulty in closing the doors etc. Is this the case? Has anyone bought some from somewhere and they have been a direct, good fitting and operable, replacement?

I think you will find that the comment about seals being too hard related to hood seals which run along the top of the door. These are different from the door seal.

I may go for these then as i could be doing with some replacements - thank you.

I knew i had read of some sort of seal that was too hard, had it in my head it was the door ones!!! Funny how you get an idea into your head eh.

I bought a set of the repro door seals and they were far too stiff, door wouldn't close etc. I ended up buying a good set of second hand ones from Martin at JustTriumph.

Bought door seals from Robsport at National Day last year. No problems with those. As I have said before, it is the plain rubber seals for above the door and the front/rear hard top that nobody seems to be able to make in soft rubber anymore . Unless anyone knows of a supplier...........

i have a brand new set in my garage that i didn't fit to my stag that i sold - the furflex is still in one long length as i havent cut it yet - i also have the p shaped rubber that goes down the rain gutter

Hi Russel,
These are the wrong colour for your car. Yours should be a brown / tancolour.

Not always available, more expensive than black and not quite the same as original of course. You can try the usual stag suppliers and these are a couple of trim companies.

Not sure you will manage to get something near original as the brownsmight be thedark chestnutbut worth a try.

The car has black at the moment.

I have bought Darren's black ones for the next 4 years as they will be far better than the ones that are on the car as they are tired, and once the resto gets under way at the other side of my course ill try and source the correct ones!

Haha ive been studying hard so just a bit of relaxation!!! Can;t study all the time lol. What better way to relax
