    Very Sad Day

    Hi All

I have SORN the Stag today which will take affect from the 1st April

I am hoping to have the car fixed and back on the road for May 10th but looking at all the bills that landed on the door mat Saturday I think it will be a lot longer lay off.

I have 2 options which one's would you go for?
    1. Replace worn drag strut bushes and temporarily fill the small holes in the NSF inner splash panel then tax car for 6 months. Repair car properly during the Autumn/Winter.(Go to Prescott)
    2. Keep car off the road all summer whilst rebuilding complete front suspension with all new parts (bushes, bolts, springs and inserts) repair inner splash panel and inner rear wheel arches properly with new metal and get minor paint defects done at the end of the summer. (will take multi months to save money and buy parts a bit at a time). (Don't go to Prescott!)

NOTE I do not have a garage so repairs are done on the drive in what ever weather is happening at the time!
The parts alone will cost approx £500+ to do the job properly so will take some time to save up for.

      Stu

No contest, "Temp repair" not Bodge and get the use out of her in the good weather, then SORN her and do the repairs later in the year.

Front suspension should not be a problem and unless you are doing the welding yourself?? - she'll be in someone else's garage? inc. mine if you need to?

Weather like last weekend is far too good to miss?

Agree with Kevin and Ian. Do what you have to do to get it roadworthy for the Summer, then do the repairs later.

            Go to prescott,

Took mine of the road in Dec for what i thought would be a month ,now going flat out to get her back on the roadready for prescott, long layup in the summer is not an option.

            Cheers Steve

                  I concur,

Make the most of the summer. If the repair isn't a safety concern, enjoy the summer and do the repair in the autumn.

Easy...... Temp repair for as long as needed before doing a long-term fix

I feel your pain, in the same boat butwith welding repairs on the back end,a friend of mine is hopefully going to make good of the inner arches and boot floor and get me on the road again ready for my MOT next month.

Ireally could do with a new boot floor, rear valance, rear wing lower repair panels and inner arches, got a quote of EJwards which while it was not cheap i think it'sfair for the work involved.

If my mate sorts it I'm looking at having the money saved up for the trip to Leicester by the end of next summer, if not i will be getting a refund on my tax and SORNing:X
