What do you play on your Radio/cd/tape player?

Now I have finally got the Radio/CD Player fitted to my liking I find that modern music just doesn't sound right (yes I know just listen the the burble). Sorting through the huge amount of music on computer I was able to sort by year rather than genre. Started at 1970 stopped at 1980 blimey what an eclectic mix even by my taste.

        Hi Phil

Been playing You Can Do It(Baby) by George Benson off the Nuyorican Soul album,Leon Wares Why I came To California and the whole of the Lets Get It On album by Marvin Gaye that for some reason is always over shadowed by the Whats Going On album both masterpieces imho.

I installed a power amp a couple of years ago for motorway open top driving and it works a treat but must always check for emergency services behind with loud music playing.

Is that so you can flag them down when your ears start bleeding due to excessive volume? :P

Have 3 cassette tapes I keep & play in the Stag - all my own mixes.
Just to bore you they are as follows :-
                    • Mix 1-Side A) Don't bring me down, 4 seasons melody, Stayin Alive, Apache, What is Love, Locomotion, Lucille, I drove all night, Silence is Golden, Teenager in Love, Out of Time, Ob-La-Di, Atomic, Eternal Flame.
                    • Mix 2-Side A) Listen to me, Tell me Why, Little Red Rooster, S.O.S, Teenager in Love, Be Bop A Lula, I Wanna Hold your hand, Well all right, What'd I say, So Sad, Next Time, Time is Tight.
                    • Mix 3-Side A) Midnight, Blue Bayou, California Dreamin, Waterloo Sunset, Paradise is half as nice, I'm a believer, My Guy, I heard it thru the grapevine, Go now, Whiter shade of pale, Where do you go to my lovely, I'm into something good, When you walk in the room, 3 Steps to heaven, Shakin all over, Wonderful Land, Dream Baby.
I like 'em, Stag likes 'em, and the people I pass seem to appreciate the music also.
No doubt others have their own choices, but I like mine & if you come for a drive in my Stag the above is what you will get when I switch on the cassette player.

Nopfler, The Eagles, U2, Joni, The Boss, The Chicks, Coldplay, The Bunnymen, Slowdive, Cranes, Pulp....

...and the complete Sun records collection which includes Jerry Lee, Elvis, Mr Cash etc

but, I am fitting the Radiomobile because when I am in the Stag I really like to listen to the exhaust, and, I hate people who inflict their tastes on others with a car radio blaring. I would rather deafen em!

After 16 months and getting on for 7000 miles, I have no idea if the tape player in my stereo works:shock:. The redio does, but I rarely remember to pull the ariel up before I jump in the car so I don't usually bother. The speakers are rubbish as well!

A new stereo is on the list, but right at the bottom at the mo!

(Duffy in the other car's stereo at the mo, and I was listening to Meatloaf on the ipod at work today!):shock:

I think your post has narrowed it down the best

The CD player plays MP3 discs so one CD will fit about 160 tracks. I didn't go for any specific favorite just made sure that they all came from the 70s. So theres Rock, Glam Rock, Pop, Smooth Jazz, other Jazz, Blues you name it. Nothing I didn't like though.

The radio now has two period speakers in the doors very laid back and mellow, I put two tiny full range speakers into the speaker on the dash and and ancient Pioneer active sub behind the back seat. This is turned as low as it will go, I haveno desire to be mistaken for a Corsa/Saxo.

That's Knopfler - with a K Everything Dire Straits ever recorded, and all his solo stuff, Eagles - YES YES YES, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, and - The Red Army Choir, travelling fast it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, two big speakers in the cubbys and two small quality speakers under the dash, fun fun fun. In town I grin endlessly at THAT sound behind my left ear. :dude: Martin.
