Thanks for explanation. But am still confused - what alloy? I assume original rads are copper?
Why does it look great? It looks like a radiator to me?
It looks ace because it has superb Tig Welded joints and brightens up the engine bay. It should also offer a weight saving as well as cooling the water better.
See standard black rad on my car and you will see what I mean!

OH STAGHUSBAND, HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT !Some re-training needed here I think ! Heat transfer is greater with aluminium than most other metals, most moderns use it with plastic top and bottom tanks. Martin.
The only down side is that it's another part to keep clean and polish, as for cooling purposes it does seem to keep things slightly cooler can't tell for sure as i fitted a header tank at the same time and i have since had the rad modified for the header tank plumbing

Oh dear MARTIN I did say "do not shoot down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I find your post patronising and unacceptable. Unfortunately unlike other forums I subscribe to this forum does not have a report post facility otherwise I would have reported your post.
Furthermore the use of capitals in most forums is frowned upon as implying shouting!
So perhaps some re-training for you...
1)Copper is far better heat conductor than Aluminium
2) The word "alloy" does not infer the use of Aluminium. It is a mixture of metals(e.g. Stainless Steel is an alloy of - in its common form - Iron, Nickel and Chromium)
3)If someone did a practical out of car independently witnessed properly controlled heat removal experiment comparing this rad to the standard rad then I might believe what is claimed
