    Amazing Parcel Service!

I just wrapped a recon hood frame for UK delivery, and booked online with Parcelforce. I was surprised when I got the option of collection same day, so I specified 14:00 to 16:00 collection. I was impressed at having such a specific slot for collection, it saves me waiting in all day. What happened next was even more surprising. At about 11:30 am I had just printed the delivery papers and the doorbell rang: 'do you have a parcel for collection sir?'

Job done! I have never had such a speedy service before. Full marks to Parcelforce (I hope they dont lose the parcel).

I am glad I did then. Are your carbs OK now? I hear you are doing your front struts at the moment?

Carbs seem good Chris thanks. I have only used the car a couple of times since, but only for work - 70 mile round trip roof down and car is running very well although everyone thinks I am mad.

Checked-out the play 3 weekends ago and found the shock problem. First one complete and planning to do the second soon, subject to weather.

The clutch is getting a bit noisy but I am not convinced about Hardys ability to sort it, though in fairness, I need to speak with them properly. Stuart at SOC spares is getting some new clutch parts made with (I think) extended nose cones and I am tempted to just get someone like Favershams to put one of those in. Stuart also recommended a person near Brands Hatch, so I need to make a decision soon.

That should do the mechanics, so then its the seats and the hood, then, hopefully get the usage and mileage up to the point where I need to increase my annual limit with the insurance company - that will keep me happy and sane in the madness that is my professional life just now!

              Hi Graham,

              This may be of interest.

I was rummaging through LD parts website a couple of evenings ago and I came across a special bolt that they have had made. It is designed to be a really tight fit in the gearbox bellhousing holes and is used to aid alignment.

Not cheap, but you can return it and get some of your money back afterwards

              Has anybody tried this?

              Regards

              Dave

Sounds well worth a try. LD only sell welltried and quality parts.
                Not expensive if it works.

Peter at LD is unique; what other supplier would go to these lengths to supply special parts to help us?

I would not leave this bolt fitted because it is presumably not a high tensile bolt, so better to fit as high tensile one.

I wonder if this would help Graham though as his problem is not judder but seems to be a squeaky bearing. Of course it cant do any harm to try.

Yes, they are. If you need any advice on fitting their parts, or even any other Stag problem, Peter seems to have plenty of time and enthusiasm. Pure dedication.

LD are always my first port of call when I am ordering parts. They once sent me a credit note for 80p as they realised that they had used the wrong type of postage service for my parts, I hadn't noticed!
