This is a post to ask what random tools,Gadgets or thin-a-me-bobs that you have come up with to get the job done.
here is one of mine - a steel bar!
This started out as a steel rectangular tube from B&Q and it now has a multitude of uses.
The first addition was a couple of hols to enable me to bolt it to the flange that attaches to the quill shaft. This enabled me to torque up the bolt with relative ease. (I used bigger bolts than shown in the pic though).
Next I cut a chunk off the end, drilled a few more holes and added some threaded bar and it became a press. This is what I used to change the UJ's in my half shaft. It feels like it is about to go bang at any moment when there is a lot of pressure on it but it has held so far:shock:.
Thirdly, it is a extension handle for my Silisons (Removing the bolt holding the viscous coupling here).
Anyone else got anything weird and wonderful they have cooked up?
Regards
Dave
