Hi all. When I accelerate hard in my Stag (not often) and then take my foot of the accelerator to change gear I get a disturbing back end sway which soon corrects itself. I wonder if it is tyre walls (not sure how old the Tyres are), or suspension bushes. Being kind of new to actually driving a Stag not sure if this unusual, expected or what. Any advise would be appreciated.

I had the same on mine. I overhauled the whole rear over the winter. Things to look at to cure the twitch are, greasing the splines in the half shafts. (CV grease) and changing the trailing arm bushes to Poly. It cured it totally on mine.

Hi Martin R. Like Martin I don't think it is 'the twitch', when you are in a straight line and moving with lots of power. The suspension is trying to cope with the torque and something is not right.
Shocks or Dampers are meant to deal with this sway, as well as bumps and thumps and easily changed.
I would ask someone to check out the whole rear suspension, bushes, shocks, springs and tyres. Then you can decide whether you are going to keep your foot off the loud pedal or as Stag owners do, Pay up and know that you will (eventually) be happy.
Hope you have a good first season.

I go to ALdridge on a regular basis to see several customers in the area, if you want me to pop round and have a look at the rear suspension for you let me know and we will arrange a day and time.

I thought that this was about that Kirst woman whenI saw the title
I have completely new rear suspension and poly bushes and mine does this occasionally. Not that my opinion on any such matters counts for a lot but my money is on stickiness somewhere near the ends of the driveshafts
