just touching base with you all.

i am in the process of selling my house and will be looking to buy something smaller, 'on my own' hope fully it will have a garage!

my xj6 (1995) is still going strong and has now done 180k bearing in mind it cost me 2.7k and has done 50kmiles with only really oil change and tyres, in 2.5 years it has done really well, and i reckon i can get at least another year out of it, I cannot recommend one enough.

I was thinking i would replace it with an xk8 when it does shake off to the scrappy, but i saw a Stag the other day and the old memories came back, so you never know!

hope you are all well and your lives have been less eventful than mine has been for the last 6 months.

I used to have the last of the XJ40's on an M plate, it was a 3.2S, Loved it!!

the draw of an xk8 is big though , everyday usage, a v8 and reliable as a modern can be......tough one

Hi Russell mine is an x300 one of the first Ford built Jags, think it has the same gearbox that kryten has in his stag.

how did you manage 500+ posts in a month???

As for where I have been well, I have to saythat this recession is killing me.....Seriously I have never been so busy! The trouble is that as being self employed, the work could stop tommorrow :?. So you tend to take on as much as is available, just in case :shock:Then your left knackered

My second "classic" (well for insurance purposes anyway) is a 1993 XJ6 (aka Sovereign) - marvellous machine and I love it, but as different to the Stag as I guess flying a 747 is to a Spitfire!
