Soft Top Frame to Door Frame Clearance

    Hi Guys

Anyone know the what the clearance is supposed to be between the soft top frame and the window frame?

When i close my doors the soft top seal is forced inwards and does not sit on the top of the window frame, i have to push the frame up from inside, this then allows the soft top seals to sit on top of the window frame.

Any help on adjustment etc would be welcome.

    Thanks

The frame has some adjustment where it's bolted to the car behind theB posts, and you can adjust the doors and window frame independently as well.

Assuming the doors fit OK, I would fit the hard topfirst then check/adjust the window frames to fit correctly to the hardtop. You can then start adjusting the hood but there's not much to play with. I found my hood had been fitted too tight, and it was only onceafterI'dun-riveted the front and re-tensioned it that the driver's door shut properly.

You could have a problem with soft top seals-the ones accross the top of the door. Originally, the circular part of the seal was made from a soft, hollow, sponge type rubber. As far as I am aware, these have been unobtainable for some time, and the current pattern parts are made from a very firm rubber that does not mould to the shape of the door frame, as the original did.

I don't think it is the case that the seal sits on top of the frame, rather the original seal was soft enough to mould itself into an 'L' shape around the inside and top edges of the door frame
