    Stag Day Out

    Had an invite from Peugeot to go to a preview of the new 308CC today, free lunch, drive a new CC around Stratford & Evesham for an hour - so decided to take them up on it and to take the Stag to provide a little competition!

    Peugeot organisation was superb, although we had to park down the drive due to too many cars in the Car Park (I ribbed them that they did not want the Stag as competition!) and after a very nice lunch and a ten minute briefing we were let loose in a new 308CC GT version with leather and the new heated air-scarf. A novel idea that blows hot air from the headrest and warms the back of your neck - anyone fancy rigging a hair dryer under their Stag seat with some ducting up the back of the seat?

    Ours was a diesel 140 and very nice and a little more economical than the Stag (54 mpg!!) but I made 3 observations to the sales guy;

    1. As per the Stag, it needed a louder indicator when roofless - or a buzzer, 2. The heater blower "whistled" through the vents when trying to blow hot air onto our feet, and 3. Give it a decent exhaust note - even the petrols sounded dull!

    A great day out, the Stag behaved perfectly, wasn't outclassedand the Peugeot wasn't bad either!

          Wife did say she (the Stag) looked a little old, compared to all the 207, 307 and 308CC's that appeared to be there. I'd just say she looked classy!

                Hi Ian

                Looks like you had a nice day and your right the Stag would of stolen the limelight if you had parked it near the new cars!

                We have a Peugeot 306 Meridian 1.8 and it is a really good car with fantastic brake's.

                However when we have the money we will be changing it for a Magenta GT6

                    Will there be any to see? How many 306 convertibles are still around after 12 years.

                    How many of the classic 406 coupe do you see......not many.
