Stag Mk I Seatbelts getting caught

When I get into my stag I have to spend a frustrating time untangling the seatbelt to get them on. They get annoyingly caught on the seat forward nob and between the door. This happens on both sides. My utopia would be to reach for it and pull it around and on. The only practical way around it is to put the seatbelt on before you close the door.

Does anybody else suffer the same, if so has anyone a fudged solution? I will try anything.

By the way I know my next major mechanical malfunction will put this issue all into perspective, however at the moment nothing is more important.

lol i know, mine dont get tangled up really, but i ALWAYS have to open the door to get the seatbelts on, otherwise i find it impossible like you say to get them throygh the available space and past the seat handle!!

      Martin,

I fitted the later plastic hooks to my Mk1, to hang the seatbelt buckles on. Made life much easier. When I bought my current Stag (Mk 1.5) I bought some more of these hooks. Then I noticed that the seatbelts on this car are the aftermarket ones as sold by most of the suppliers these days. They have a different clasp and don't have an enclosed hole to hang them up by . Luckily I noticed this before fittong the hooks.
