    Where does this go?

    Hi All,

Been putting things back in place in the engine bay before I put the engine back in, but not sure of the route of the wiring on the drivers side of the engine bay - battery lead, alternator wirign etc. In the photo below there is a rectangularish box in the wiring, where and how does this attach?? Also how does the washer bottle attach? Screws or bolts?

    Thanks Al.

    Hi Al,

The washer bottle bracket is riveted to the side of the engine bay. The connector block fixes to the hole you can see in your photo just above it.

    Regards

      Thanks Dave.

I thought it did, but the screw in the block is too small a diameter for the hole??

Is it supposed to be a self tapping screw or something else?

      Rgds...Al

        HI Al,

A couple of pics of an early MK1 Stag engine bay (manual Overdrive, LD6??). The first shows the washer bottle bracket, the next couple are of the loom. Can't guarantee they are correct but they might help.

I glad someone else asked the question. Thanks Roger, you don't know how useful those photographs are. Any one else got any more?

              Regards

Something I've just noticed in the bulk head photo is the sound deadening? panel detached from the gearbox cowl, I don't recall having one on mine!

                    John,

I pretty certain my MK1 Auto has the same material around the transmission tunnel, I'll check tomorrow night.

I've just popped out and had a look at mine. From marshmans pics it looks like the early ones didn't have that connector. It looks as though it is held on by the self tapper that passes through it. I didn't have a philips screwdriver short enough to hand to make sure though!

Awkward one to phot with the engine in the way:P

                      Regards

Dave - you could have removed the engine for a better photo:P
