    seat belts

Hi can any body tell me how to free a inertia seat belt that has become locked, and wont allow belt to pull out? Both of mine that were removed and left lying about during resto are in this position. Or has any one got a pair for sale that are working? Ken :X01508 481988 or 07971 529716

It is only a ball bearing that is preventing it from releaseing. You can usually knock it sideways to shift and and it will release. If not, just unbolt the unit from sill and give it a knock with you hand and it should do the trick

    Good luck

      Are these inertia units serviceable?

My rear beltsoccasionally stick, and the kids give me grief.!!:X as we gradually pull, and release, them to get enough belt to strap them in..!

..or do I just need to get some new units? (belts, not kids!!)

You need to adjust the sensors correctly Andrew...... they are not aligned with horizontal...... can take a while to get them right.

You need to mount the the reels at the correct angle in a vice or screwed to a vertical piece of wood, and by hand try to wind the webbing ON to the reel a bit more - usually a quarter of a turn will do it.

This should free off the locking mechanism and the webbing should come out fine.
