    Seat Diaphragms

Being in sales, I know the effect that website can have on sales people and I also like the ability to check everything real-time. For the first time, I bought some parts on-line and didnt check my email properly.

The supplier, Paddocks, has been great at communicating, I just missed the first email! I have tried Aldridge and they are alsothree weeks delivery(Same supplier?) which is to long - car booked in for work week after next and I dont want to let the slot go!

Any recommendations who to tryor spares lying around that I could buy or borrow and replace in a few weeks?

    Thanks in advance

    Graham

    Do you mean carb diaphrams?

I still have the old ones that came out of my carbs. They are thin but intact.

    You are welcome to them.

    Regards

I assume you are talking about seat diaphragms here as opposed to carb ones. I have a new one bought from Paddocks last year, not used, that you could have if that helps.

Let me know and we'll sort something out.

      Regards

      Graham (good name eh?)

I have used my super mod powers to ammend my post title

Graham. I might take you up on that if I can get a matching one. Do you know if they are handed or different sorts - mine is a mk2

Sorry Graham don't know if they are handed. I think the best thing is that I take a picture of the one I have and you can decide if it will be of any use to you ... will probably be end of tomorrow before I can do that now.

Graham, have you tried South East Trimmings. Mag page 77. I got great and fast service and advice from him last year. He also supplied complete with new clips at no extra cost.

R's catalogue shows a different ref for right and left but I can't see why you couldn't just turn one upside down to achieve the other hand.

Have found my spare diaphragm ... I think they are the same for both sides, you just turn them over. Anyway two photo's I hope which may help you decide if you would like this one. Just let me know.

I replaced a diaphragm on the seat.
I ordered new clips & diaphragm.
The clips that came were too long ie no tension could be applied.
Luckily the old ones were still ok to re-use.

Regarding carb diaphragms, all local motor factors who used to be able to supply CD175 carb diaphragms now can't.....time to have some extras as readily available spares.

No problem at all. I'll keep this one for the next twenty years until my drivers side needs replacing again.
