    power steering pump ?

Has anyone ever fitted the pump to the oposite side, as i am thinking of doing this so i can have easier access to remove my battery , and how do the pully belts line up? I also have a kenlow pacet type fan that i want to fit but dont know whether to have it sucking or blowing through the radiator.

Any advice would be very helpfull.

    Thanks in anticipation

I think the pump could be moved butthe pipes to the rack would bevery hard to re route IMHO, you would be better off moving the alternator to there, doesn't help with access to the battery but does prevent the alternator getting covered in PAS fluid and muck off the road etc.

I have my electric fan mounted in front of the rad, space is a bit limited between the rad and engine even.

      Hi Stu.

What is involved in removeing the viscose fan and is there any problems lineing up the belts.

To remove the viscose coupling completely you would need a shorter bottom pulley bolt which i'm not sure if their available, so i just removed the plastic fan from the coupling.

I bought the alternator mounting kitfrom EJWards which you get the wiring extension and the mounting brackets which line up fine with the bottom pulley and uses the same belt as the PAS

Hiya Bill, removing the viscouse fan is not a good idea, I've seen a few electric fan controllers fail and the only option then is recovery, unless you can re-wire it on the spot of course.

I think Stu is right, replacing the PAS pipes would be a nightmare. Martin.
