    Fitting Hardtop trim

    Hi All

I hope to be able to fit the lower trim to my Hardtop next weekend but want to know which is the best way to fit it.

    Do I
    1. Fit clips then slide on the trim?
    2. Fit clips to trim then pop rivet on at a time?
    3. Do I need to use and DumDum or similar to seal the clips or trim?
    4. On the leading edge should the black plastic clips have sealant on them before pop riveting?

    Hi Stuart,

When I did mine I dipped each pop rivet in sealant before fastening the clips to the shell. The lower strips slide upwards onto the clips then snap over the top of them.

What I did was to fill all the strip cavities with petroleum jelly before fitting, then sealed the gaps top and bottom with marine-grade sealant to prevent any moisture getting in.

    Dave.
