    Valve shims

Just checking this sounds about right....re-ground in the valves after getting the head skimmed (most took quite a bit of grinding). I've now fitted the camshaft and checked the clearances. Only 2 are within tolerance and the rest being between 3 and 7 thou out (gap too small so shims are too large). Does this sound about right as first time I've used a micrometer :?. Most shims are around 100-108thou (strangely one is 122). Hopefully Paddocks or Robsport will have some in the 94-101 size.

    Cheers

Makes perfect sense to me; valves are sitting marginally deeper into the head so you need smaller shims. The range available is quite broad, I've a selection from 88 through 110 from various OHC Triumphs I've owned
