Non Stop Wipers !

Need some advice again. Decided on Sunday to take of rusty old wiper motor assy, strip down clean and repaint. All went well until I put the wipers on and now I cannot stop them !.

Looking at the inside I think I put the nylon slide block on the wrong way round and this has sheared a nylon pin (Sorry dont know correct terms). Does anyone know if this is the cause of my problem and if so what I can do to correct, hoping I do not need a new assy !

Hi Martin

It sounds like you have damaged the wiper parking mechanism, I am not sure these are available as a spare so you may need to but a S/H Wiper unit.

Do you know if this broken pin is the park mechanism, I am not sure how whole thing works ! Rimmers advertise a parking switch, is this what would fix problem ?

Hiya Martin, yes the nylon pin is what operates the self park, unfortunately all the components are hard soldered, so unless you have a very large soldering iron and a very steady hand (tiny parts) a S/H motor is your best bet. Martin S.

Give Les a ring he has a S/H one on E bay, I'm sure he will sell it early as your deperate for one.

Thought my hamfistedness would cost me more money ! Have got a s/h unit from Martin at Just Triumph, quick and helpful as usual. Advice appreciated, will learn to ask advice first in future (maybe!)
