    Power Steering Fluid

    Hi,

    I have just recon'd the p/srack and resealed the pump, I have on the shelf some Comma auto fluid Dexton11 QM , can I use this as I can not find TQF local to me, or is this a no no ?

    You should be able to get Power Steering Fluid from Halfords, or any accessorie shop. Comma, STP, Wynns...........

      HI,

      You should be OK to use any ATF in the power steering pump - that includes the Dexron variety. The issue with ATF relates to the BW auto box where Dexron type fluids should DEFINATELY NOT be used.

        Hi Roger, I took your advice on this issue, got rid of the Dexron and replaced with Comma ATF, smoother changes can you believe, with a trans that already worked well. The ATF is much less viscous than Dexron, witness the three foot slick on my driveway as it sneaked round the end of the squeezy bottle, good stuff, and thank you for the tip. Martin.
