Hi Guys, All sorted!. Flushed system until the cows came home ,o/s block had a lot of crud and flushed until clear water came out. Also the water was not circulating as it should be so back flushed, removed matrix hose flushed through, also removed thermal switch and let water flush through, flushed flushed flushed, then filled with water only and filled up the way RogerP suggested and you should have seen how the air locks came out:shock:,.
Took a drive for two miles and temp needle stayed on half way mark. flushed out system again with Rad Flush ( the quick stuff ) let engine run for 15 minutes prior to flushing. Filled with ionised water and 35 % coolant, and let engine idled for 10 minutes no airlocks, took a45 minute drive got stuck in traffic most of the time, needle stayed just below halfway, Kenlowe never kicked in.
Cooling system now near perfect, top hose used to get very hard now it does not, also header tank used tobe under pressure now ok. upon cooling down water in header tank gone down a little as it should.
I have learned never to hurry on jobs of these sort, should have taken my time and been more through first time round.
