Some time ago there was a thread on this forum about LED bulbs for the instruments in the dash board. I bought some bulbs, but have experienced TWO bulb failures, and I thought that LEDs were much more reliable than standard. Has anyone got any feedback after fitting these bulbs ? are they badly made, of poor quality or am I just unlucky?

I would be quite happy to keep the oil in the diff !
and the LED's are GREEN to mimic the origionalcolour, before the bit of green plastic burns through under the action of 30 years worth of heat.
Mind you I have found a Neon light tube 3mm dia and 3 ft long, thinking of detailing the interior with it
Standard stag thrashed and enjoyed, Nissan Murano ( very underrated, very thirsty, very fast)

I bought the green LED's from the american website that was mentioned. I've had no problems at all so far, but I don't really use the car at night much so I could be heading for a shock one evening as all goes dark within the cabin.......
Still....my day-glow orange interior strip lights that follow the countours of the seats and t-bar should illuminate my way home, if not provide some form of outer marker for the local airport arrivals.

Hi Chriss!
I fitted new blue LEDs - I bypassed the dimmer control! not really of any use if you fit!
It is unusual for them to fail! P.S the illumination is a little dimmer than what you may expect..... but the results generally are pleasing!
- by rights ALL L.E.D type bulbs( in any application ) should have a small limiting resistor to Anode.
( I used 100OHM EIGHTH WATT- as small enough and no probs!- if you really want to improve yhe overall effect -and you find time etc....paint the backplate housings of your guages -in white! to improve reflection!
:dude:cheers!
