Fibre washers at petrol pump

The poxy fibre washers have failed again on my petrol pump, I just put new ones in today and there is still a slight leak !
Has anyone found a proper fix for this never ending problem ?
Is there a sealant that works with Petrol ?

I put copper washers on mine and have had no problem since . Your local spares shop should be able to supply them

Hiya Stu, the fibre washers for the SU pump are apeculiar size, they are black and appear to be a different material to the usual red ones, if you Google / contact Burlen, they'll supply them. One thing worth trying if you have the right washers is PTFE tape, it's completely petrol proof. One quick thought, I had one banjo union that had an air hole in the casting, that bugger took some finding, very unlikely but if all else fails . . . Martin.

When I changed my pump I fitted new banjos and washers(normal red) from SOC spares. She dripped occasionally for 6 weeks---but has been bone dry for many months now

Thanks for the feedback, I will see if the drip stops in the short term, if not I will wrap the washer in PTFE, failing that its try the copper
