    brake problem again

went to give it a run today and no brakes went to check fluid empty looked at calipers and rear cyls dry? drivers footwell vry soggy lifted out matt soaked with fluidi assume this is the m/cyl leaking into the servo and passing through any one else had this, second servo and mcyl in 13 months.warranty out:X

so what do you do throw more money at it with recon or new stag bits or go down the bmw servo/cyl route at about the same cost?

anyone rebiult the servo and m/cylinder thats the cheapest option at about £70 as opposed to replacement at about £235

oh and just for good measure my engine has kindly painted the entire underside of the car with oil from a leak i cant find.

the best is i just needed a quick fix before i changed the exhaust system to a new st/steel one the old st/st was rotten yes holes had appeared in various places.

begining to wonder if maybe we should part company.one very p........d off stag owner....................rant over.................... steve

I would go for the BMW m/c and servo since yours needs replacing

Just in case you would like to have a go at doing the conversion yourself the bmw m/c and servo that monarchs supply is from a E30 3 series, and you can get a new m/c from GSF car parts for £70

I plan to have a go at doing it myself as i have a spare peddle box to play around with, i could just to with the fitting instructions from a monarch kit

      Steve ,

Sorry to hear your wows,I tried a M/c repair kit when i got mine but it didn't work ,bore must have been shot,i'd go for the BMW one but if you have a manual o/d you will need to get someone to weld the clutchbracket for you as for the oil leak, there's a lot of it about .

      Cheers Steve

Tha sad fact of this, Kevin, is a few years ago the kids would have come back and said 'do it again please, mister!'

Nowadays you are likely to get Plod on your doorstep saying they had received a complaint from the parents that you had frightened their 'little darlings'!

You're probably right Dave, but it wasn't my house or my neighbours!

well got back from scrabster this morning and decided to go with new stag m/cylinder from ld parts.WHAT A REALY HELPFULL BLOKE PETER IS after a long chat with him sussed out as he said that it is not servo leaking as well but fluid being blown and sucked into the foot well behind it......... so ordered new cyl with st/steel sleeve.

do want to go to bmw mod but will wait and collect parts first and make brackets /welding etc.informed opinion seems that it is a better system but need to get car back on road quick no fun just staring at it when the suns out

                        steve.......................
