They aren't - I think you've just got money burning a hole in your pocket which is inviting you to consider cars that you might not otherwise consider.
Theforemost consideration you must reach a conclusion on is 'do I want a Triumph or Rover-engined Stag?' This is fundamental to your search.
There may well be nothing wrong with the car but I would DRIVE it first and check out the following:
VIN number for a J reg should probably be LD 1590 so check that last zerois infact an 'O' representing 'Overdrive'. If it is LD 15900 then I think that is too late for a J reg.
Seat belt stalks are far too long, not Stag fitment, possibly dangerous.
Handbrake gaiter brown. Why?
Handbrake lever late Mk2. Why?
Badges are black (Mk2) ,should be grey. Why?
Rear light panel is black, should be body colour. Why?
Hoodand wheels are not Mk1, but these ar often changed, but worth queryingin light ofthe non-Mk1 items listed above.
On the positive side, I'm tempted to saythe bodywork and the hoodlook good in the photos. Most of the gauges look to be Mk1 but there might be a Mk2 clock lurking in there.
I'm afraid my advice remains as per earlier posting.
Looks a tidy Stag for £3000. and tax free to boot. - If you want one with a Rover engine. Most look good from a distance andonly looking closely reveals the bodges.
As for the other details, black panel, stainless sills, incorrectly applied coachline, alloys, badges- the car has had major work and the ownermay have wanted them. I can't see the seat backs, and can't be bothered to count theridges and compare with mine to deduce whether they are MkI of MkII
If it was me, I'd have kept the MkII clocks as well.
