    Andrew
It is true that we have been waiting for many months to see this part of the SOC site.
If, as you claim, there will be a lot more added to it over the next couple of weeks, it would have been better to delay the launch for a couple of weeks until it was ready.

Well, how can I follow on from these comments?

First of all, good for you all for looking at the page and your comments have been noted. I think its best that I explain a few things:-

Now to try and address some of the moaning.I share the disappointment that not all items are being shown and that it was not all complete by the go live date. Let’s move forward comment about a member visiting for the first time could be put off by what they I don’t think is fair compared to them viewing the page a week or so ago and seeing nothing at all.

appeared in the magazine and there is an email. All you have to do is ask if he can get something for you or if you don’t see it on the web shop at the moment, ask or suggest.CM are there for us all and want to work with us, so instead of having a pop here on the forum, why not wait and see what Sorry you weren’t happy with the shop and hopethat your feelings change as the weeks move on. As stated, you comments have been noted

      Thank you

I have to agree with Darren, this site should not have become available until it was complete ! What's more, it should have been complete some time ago. I'm not at all happy with your choice of words - see above - when I go to an onlineshop, I go to look, NOT to ask the proprietor if he's got, or can get something! So far it looks half baked, and your response does not speak well of the club's attitude ! Martin.

So Martin, lets put this in perspective.

How long have you been a member of the SOC and how many times have you ordered Items under the previous arrangements.

If as I suspect the answers are 'quite a long time' and 'very few' then you will appreciate that this is the beginning of something new and will grow and is a huge step forward. I develop web based customer portals and often you need to get the concept up and running then let the company add the content. Lets now see over the next couple of months whether the range increases.

I think you can compare it to other suppliers sites, E J Ward is a good example. When their site 'opened' there were more sections without content than with. look at it now and you can see its grown into a mature, helpful site.

I'm hugely impressed with the work done by Derek Athey over the years, he put a massive amount into the club, and we owe him our thanks, obviously he couldn't go on forever, and the principal of passing it to an experienced merchandiser is a sound one, but you, like someother club officers, have missed the point, the content is it's raison d'etre, and there isn't any !

What's a "web based customer portal" ? is that computerese for shop? jargon never did sit well with me. In any case, we're entitled to an opinion, even a moan, without being roundly bollocked by so called fellow members ! Martin.

This is the problem with a Forum, interpretation and points being misunderstood. I havealready agreed with everyone that it would have been better going live with all complete, but we cant go on without anything being there. It has been far too long off line andthis in its nursery stage.

I also agree that Derek hasdone a great job for the club andthis has been recognised ingiving him life membership. I also believe andso do other members, that accessories have to grow and move on. All the items that were originally being sold are still available but are not being shown at the moment, but will be along with new items being added.I ask you to be patient as this develops.

With regards to my choice of wordsof 'moaning'its best I don't comment and maybe my response will be seen as a moan, but it is meant to be seen as listening and asking everyone to work with this.

            To all,

This is hoped to be a membership benefit and may I suggest that everyone starts to support this as it is supposed to be there developing to support you all as members. As and when youfeel you have a good suggestion, then anyone can now or later email Classic Merchandise and make enquiries. It couldn't be any simpler and this development at its early stages should be seen as something positive.

            Thanks

            Andrew
