drivers side carpet

Hi Guys

Something that has started to bug me, on the drivers sidecarpet (the piece that covers the transmission tunnel). should the carpet go up to the underside of thedash to cover all the wires and heater valve or is it always exposed, mine is all exposed and I wonder if the carpet has been cut down at sometime, if anyone has a pic of their footwell I would be interested to see.

I can't give you a definitive answer as to where the carpet is supposed to end, but that is where the heat comes from so if you carpeted it all up, you would be trapping the heat under the dash!

I just fitted a new carpet and the cables are still showing,i couldn't get the tunnel carpet high enough to cover them.I agree with you it winds you up once you notice it.
