Rubber Gaiter

Hi All

In January this year I purchased a new rubber gaiter for the airbox as my original one was split due to use over the years.

This is what it looks like now after 5 months and a approx 1000 miles!:X

I have complained to BL Direct where I bought it from and await an answer.

BL Direct? Never heard of them. Can you not get these from the main reputable suppliers?

Hi Stu, I'm on my fourth one now, ALL from different suppliers, and ALL have gone the same way, it's become one of my stock items - good luck. Martin.

Hi All

BL Direct have agreed to replace the part FOC but said I was the only one to complain about poor quality!

I believe if more of us complain when we get poor parts the quality will soon improve

Thats pretty poor. Thinking about it i cant recall what nick mines in, ill need to look!

If yoursstill has the original MK1 Air Filter fitted then you won't have one of these gaiters fitted.

Mines the slightly later mk1 mate so has just crept in with one of these!

In all fairness on this one, they are probably all sourced from the same supplier, it is hardly a fast selling line where several manufacturers make them.

Received my FOC replacement as promised from BL Direct or SOC Spares (as someone stated).

Respect where it is due I think

I bought mine approx three years ago from Rimmers and it still looks new, perhaps they have changed the rubber or manufacturer since then.

Mine also came from Rimmers a few years ago now and its been fine, sounds like Rimmers have actually sold a part thats better quality than eleswhere.
