    Yet Another Hood Topic!!

Age old topic i know, but...

The hardtop's now on its stand in the corner of the garageand wont be back on my car. I know the soft top will be getting replaced the other side of uni but wanted to try and use it in the meantime.I cant physically get it to close properly. It looks like its working as it should, and the rear piece that gets folded when raising the roof cant physically go any more forward, but when i try to put the pins in at the top of the windscreen, i can get them above the holes so they are sitting an inch abovebut its imposible to get them down inside the holes as its as taught as a drum. Is there any adjustment on the frame? This frame will need replaced too as its had a hard life by the looks of it, ive already had to straighten out a few bars.

Any ideas folks? Any help would be MUCH appreciated as at present im restricted to (very) local runs in case it rains as no chance of getting the hood up!!

    Hi Russell,

I believe one method as carried out by Tim is to lie across the top of the roof at the front edge so your body weight pushes the locating lugs down, and then reach through the open window and lock them in. :?

Good luck, and don't forget to video it and put it on YouTube

It sounds like the frame has dropped and is fouling on the top of the B posts. Loosen the three mounting bolts each side, and then fit and close the front catches. Then retighten the mounting bolts, and you should be able to use the hood.

If that doesnt work, your frame is possibly damaged.

            Hello V Mad,

Where are the three mounting bolts?

            Kind regards, Dieter.

              Hi Dieter

They are behind the cubby panels. Maybe easier or necessary to remove the cubby panels to get access. To remove the cubby panels you will need to remove the rear seat base which just pulls out.
