what a popular place this is becoming

some stats I have found in the Admin panel. Its tempting to click on everything but probably best I dont....

We have averaged 266 differrent people logging on an average of 3 times each and doing this every dayfor the month of June. That is a lot of people.

Not surprised really...it's such a friendly place with lots of helpful knowledge and advice.....and the best bit is that it revolves about one of the most characterful cars ever built.................no not a Reliant Robin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting that Graham. At the risk of sounding geeky, it is interesting to find out those sort of statistics and how popular the forum is! How do the numbers compare with 6/12 months ago?

      Regards

      Dave

        Hi Dave,

I cant screen shot the other months as they are larger than one page but:
June 08 was the busiest month last year at 178 average visitors per day, with a max on a single day of 201 compared with 299 this month and 322 last month. Members online at same time in June 08 37 and 52 this month.

March 08 to March 09 posts are up from 1700 to over 5000 per month and page views from 79,000 to over 200,000, again per month.

Overall, since we have been promoting the forum in the magazine, everything is up by at least 50% and over 200% in some cases. If I was in my mercenary work/sales mode, it would be time for the famous line from Jerry Mcguire

I think now is the time to split the forum into several sub forums, ie, general, technical, events, pub chat etc.

It works well with other forums that I use, and some you can select 'todays posts' so it just lists the whole lot together just like it is now.

There is so many new topics now that relative new topics soon fall off the bottom into a second page and soon get forgotten.

                        Just my 2 cents...
                        Mike.

I was thinking that a technical and a non-technical forum might work, giving three in total. It does make it easy if the posts are all together as with this forum, rather than split across many sections.

Although in theory this is a good idea, Graham, I think in practice what is likely to happen is that posts would drift between the two much as they do now. We often see posts on the For Sale board that should be on the main board and I think in reality folks in general would not be disciplined enough to follow "the rules".

For me I like the forum as it is as I like to read mosts posts and so having it all in one place makes it easy as you say. Anything that is not of interest doesn't take long to scroll past.......Nigel
