retorquing of cylinder heads

Hello everybody,

How often do you retorque the cylinder heads? Mine were changed and then retorqued after the first couple of miles and retorqued again after about 1000 mls. Will that be enough for the time being?

When would it be advisable to retorque again?

Dieter, I think that two retorqueings are enough, but the actual intevals are debatable. I would do the first after several runs or about 100 miles. The second could be done at 500-1000 miles although I doubt whether anything is gained after the first. You can tell whether it was necessary by first seeing if the torque wrench will turn at all. If not, back off a bit then see if it returns past the original position; if it does you know it was worth it.
